1st Change Finance Forum

February 14, 2018

Our working group had the chance to participate in the 1st Change Finance Forum organised by Finance Watch, on 4 & 5 December, 2017, in Brussels. The event was chiefly characterised by a broad representation of a myriad of stakeholders. In fact, academics and experts were only a portion of a much larger audience that included committed citizens, practitioners, and civil society organizations. There were two sessions particularly devoted to a key question: How can academics support a “Change Finance” agenda? These sessions aim to challenge the work of young scholars and researchers, but not to demoralize or discourage their current work; instead, the purpose was to make them (us, in a way) reflect on the importance and the potential contributions of scholarly work in order to better engage in the policy making process.
